Pros and cons of English German Dictionary app for iPhone and iPad
English German Dictionary app good for
I downloaded 4 apps before i found this one it is perfect. And you do not need an internet conection, it free and simply to use. Many thanks.
This is a fine dictionary if all you need when searching a word is its literal translation into German/English. It has absolutely no usage examples or notes. It does specify,
however, what gender the German nouns take. I mostly use my detailed Collins dictionary app, but since this one has so many entries, I keep it to check for old or rare words Collins may not include. So all in all, I find it to be an excellent dictionary for a free one, even though it could use a design and face lift.
Some bad moments
its very good app but there are lot of problem in ios 8.ios 8 support please
First of its Free, second many adjectives in different forms.. Best thing no wi-fi required.
I love that it gives many different options for words and its easy to search, but it would be more helpful to put the plurals with the singular. Also, putting conjugations with the infinitive verb would be very helpful since there are a lot of strong verbs. And reflexive verbs dont show sich with the verb translation. Giving examples of how to use words would also be helpful, especially with idiomatic expressions.
Otherwise, it seems good for general vocabulary so far.
It can be used offline. No worry about high expense of international data roaming. The translation is clear and the interface is concise and easy to use. Its the best dict I can find in app store. Even better, its free!
Thanks Bab.la!
Please update this app for the iPhone 5, so that its full screen!!!
I used the app multiple times a day for a whole year while studying abroad in Germany. Whether I was using it in class, shopping, or for searching for that word I couldnt think of in conversation, this app is quick and easy and has a very extensive wordbank. I would have been lost without it. I suggested it to many of my German-learning friends and they all loved it. Ive tried multiple German-English translators and this is by far the best. It may not be able to translate complete sentences except for those in the phrasebook, but it is the most accurate translator I have come across and the list of verb conjugations are essential for a German-learner. I highly recommend this app.
